Telemedicine

The use of telemedicine has exploded since the start of the COVID pandemic.  While some people don’t have the necessary equipment or strength of signal to participate, many others don’t feel comfortable using the technology. For these patients, outreach by the medical site to help make the process more comfortable can help to open the option of using telemedicine.  One of the challenges of telemedicine is that the medium tends to enforce an individual approach, one face talking to one face.  This can be detrimental to the care of patients with complex health needs for whom a team approach can make a significant difference.  This video shows how some of the difficulties of working as a team in a virtual visit can be overcome.
